Cropped Sweaters and High Waisted Jeans

Living in Arkansas - you never know what weather you're gonna get. It could be 75 and sunny one day, then 15 and snowing the next. And now that it's officially winter (and I've switched over my closet), it can be hard to figure out what to wear on those warmer days. Because, if you're like me, you want to look wintery...but you don't want to be hot all day.

My friends...I introduce you to the cropped sweater. This is the first cropped sweater I've owned - and I kind of love it. I paired mine with high waisted jeans so I could tuck it in, but this would be super cute layered over a tunic, dress or with a skirt! The color on Chicwish's website says plum, but it's definitely more of a rust color in person. To make it feel a little more in season, I topped it off with one of my go-to plaid scarves.

Transitioning to Fall with Chicwish

Fall is finally {almost} here! I am beyond ready. Love ya summer - but I want boots, layers and pumpkin flavored everything. So here are a few of my tips and tricks to transition your summer wardrobe into fall!

1. Don't underestimate the power of a good maxi skirt (or dress).

2. When in doubt....add a military vest. Layers are your friend! I throw a vest or utility jacket over almost everything in the fall.

3. Stock up on scarves! You can style them loosely with jeans and a tee for an instant fall-friendly look.

4. Last but not least - slowly start introducing darker colors. You can do this with accessories, lipstick or even nail polish!

Happy {almost} fall my friends!

Affordable Fashion with Zaful

As most of you know, I'm currently a graduate student. AKA my budget is incredibly tight and I don't have much money to spend on shopping - and, as I'm a shopaholic, that can be tough!

Well ladies and gents, I have good news. Zaful is an online shop that brings fashion directly to the customers (skipping the middleman), resulting in affordable fashion for the trendy girl on a budget. I picked out a few pieces from their website and received them in about a week in the mail! They were double packaged (a package in a package) - which I love because it keeps the clothes neatly folded and clean.

As soon as I spotted that blue off the shoulder top, I knew I needed it. The chambray color is the perfect summer neutral and goes with everything. I love the ruffled shoulders and it's slightly cropped so it's the perfect length for high waisted shorts. I also snagged this red ruffled shoulder dress. I know....obviously my obsession with ruffled off the shoulder items is out of control. The color is a vibrant orange-red and although it's a little short on me (keep in mind that I'm 5'10), it was still totally wearable. And red/pink is my favorite summer color combo, so I topped it off with some pale pink accessories!

This was my first time shopping with Zaful and I can say that it won't be my last! I think it will be one of my go-to sites when I'm searching for that perfect, on-trend item (at a price that won't break the bank).

Florals + Tassels

I know - you're all shocked that I'm back with another off-the-shoulder top. But what can I say, I love them! Although technically - this "top" is a dress! So for those of you who aren't crazy tall, it's the cutest dress ever! It's just a little bit short on me, so I styled it tucked into some boyfriend jeans. But I'm thinking as it gets warmer I may get a cute little lace slip to wear underneath so I can style it as a dress!

And I've officially decided that no combo can beat a good off-the-shoulder silhouette with long earrings - these Lisi Lerch Tassel Earrings are always my summer go-to accessory. They make a bold statement and you can dress them up or down. But fair warning - they are slightly heavy. So wear them to church or a wedding, but don't plan on wearing them all day or your earlobes won't be so happy.

Hope y'all are enjoying this gorgeous spring weather! I know I am! All of the details are linked below.

Gone Glam

Remember this skirt? I styled it with a crop top a few weeks ago (you can find it here). So today I'm showing you how to make your favorite summer midi skirt "fall-friendly"! This sweater from Loft is SO SOFT. If they had it in other colors, I would own them all! Sadly, they're sold out - but be sure to check your local Loft store! Neutral sweaters like this are my favorites because they go with shorts, jeans, skirts - you can even tie them over a dress. To glam it up, I added my Lisi Lerch Tassel Earrings and studded heels. Twiggy Mod

I'm officially about to start my 4th week in graduate school and can I just say that I've NEVER been this exhausted? This week was only 4 days, thanks to Labor Day, and it was still the longest week of my entire life! Any other grad students out there? Is everyone this insanely busy? Craziness! But I got these sunnies in the mail last week and it was just the pick me up I needed! Can we talk about these for a sec? I mean, hello! Can I have a pair in every color!? I love how retro they are and they have a cat-eye shape which is always my fave! And yes, I paired it with the iconic chambray ruffle dress. I've been seeing it on every blogger in the entire world all summer and eventually broke down and ordered one. But I absolutely love it - definitely a good purchase! To top it all off (I know you're all shocked because I never wear these...wink, wink) I added my favorite pair of Lisi Lerch tassels!

Don't forget to check out http://edgeiwear.com/ for gorgeous sunglasses at crazy affordable prices (mine are only $14.99!)
