Fall Layers

So...it's already basically winter in Arkansas, but I'm soaking up all the fall fashion I can get. I have a new found love for over the knee boots. They're perfect for when you still want to wear a dress - but it's freezing out. Plus, this pair is super comfy {and won't break the bank which is always a plus}.

For me, layers are a necessity in the fall. I'm hot one minute and freezing the next. This corduroy shirt dress is literally the best! You can wear it by itself or wear it open and layer it with anything. Plus, it's a great neutral color, so it goes with everything! When I'm running out the door, I can grab it whenever I think I may need a jacket later. It was the perfect pair for this lace-up dress. It's short sleeve - but it's pretty thick! Which I love because it's not clingy and it's heavy enough to hang well. Both of these dresses are from my friends over at Shop Maude. If you haven't checked them out yet, you're missing out! One of my all-time favorite boutiques.

And no outfit is complete without a little bling. Y'all know I can never say enough fabulous things about Kendra Scott. And this earring/necklace combo is no different. Plus their new line of necklaces have the best clasp ever. You can slide the clasp to make the necklace into a choker, or a pendant or anywhere in between!

Affordable Longer Lengths

Would y'all believe this is my first pair of over the knee boots? I've been wanting a pair for a while now...but let's be real. Ain't nobody got money for Stuart Weitzman. But good news! This pair is on sale for $28! Yep. You read that correctly. And they're available in black too!

I paired it with the perfect fall trench. It's a deep maroon with 3/4 sleeves which is great for layering this fall and winter! I love the cranberry color and it comes with a tie so you can wear it open or closed. And more good news - this is also on sale for $24! It's available at my favorite destination for all things fashion at great prices - She In! If you haven't checked out their website, you're missing out. They have all the latest trends for prices that won't break the budget.

Some serious steals. Get them while you can!

NYC with StyleWatch x Sorel

So, for those of you who don't know, I recently won a trip to NYC! A few months ago, I entered the SORELxStyleWatchContest on Instagram by uploading some of my "fall fashion faves" and ended up being chosen! People StyleWatch and SOREL flew me and two friends (AKA my mom and sister) to NYC for a styling session with the fabulous Kami Stewart from StyleWatch and a shopping spree with SOREL! Needless to say, we had an incredible time! Here'a a little recap:

You can't go to New York without seeing a Braodway show, right?! So the day we flew in, we dropped our bags off at the hotel and went to Times Square to see what tickets we could get! We ended up choosing A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder and HOLY COW! It was SO good - the actors are crazy talented! If you haven't had a chance to see it, you have to go! Their last show is coming up soon, so don't miss it!

(and of course we had to take a selfie while in Times Square)

After a crazy long day of flights and exploring, we were absolutely exhausted and headed back to our hotel. We stayed at Hotel Empire - which is where several Gossip Girl scenes were filmed, so I might have had a few "fan-girl" moments. We walked around the hotel a bit, and then headed to bed to get some sleep before the big day!

At 7:30am, hair and makeup arrived to get us photo-ready. The makeup artist, Maya Calhoun, and hair stylist, Koni Bennett, were two of the sweetest people ever! They were both so incredibly talented and we had the best time getting ready, chatting and of course (in typical tourist fashion) getting all the New York info - including the best food spots.

After hair and makeup were done, we headed to the SOREL store in the Meatpacking District!

The store is absolutely gorgeous by the way. And can I just say...I wanted every single pair of boots. They were all so cute!

Once we arrived, we were met by the StyleWatch team and got started! We all tried on endless pairs of boots and got to pick our favorites. Kami (the lovely lady in blue) gave us some fashion pointers and brought some fun accessories for us to try on.

I ended up picking the Winter Fancy Lace Boot in Black. They go with everything and they'll be perfect for walking on campus in the rain and snow!

After a ridiculously fun day, we headed to Sugar Factory for lunch and drinks. And I've officially decided that every drink needs to be served with candy in it. Seriously, so delicious.

Then we did a little shopping and explored the city. We made a quick stop by the NBC store so I could hang with my bestie Jimmy.

This was my first time in NYC around Christmas time and it was absolutely magical. Lights and music everywhere! Rockefeller Center and Saks Fifth Avenue were our favorites - all decked out in Christmas-y goodness!

I can't say thank you enough to everyone at StyleWatch and SOREL! We had the best time on this trip and I couldn't be more thankful! Thanks for giving me such an incredible opportunity!

Magnificent Metallics

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I'm all about a good set of neutrals, but I always feel the need to add a little something extra. And let me tell you, these shoes do NOT disappoint. They add the perfect amount of metallic shine to any outfit and are super comfy. You all know I have a boot addiction (aka I own a ridiculous amount of booties) - but I didn't have any metallic pairs until now and boy was I missing out! I wear these shoes all the time - and bonus, they pair perfectly with gold glitter.

Obviously I had to pair it with this gorgeous tassel necklace from my friend Sophia over at Something About Sophia and my all time favorite glitter clutch!

And I have good news! I'm doing a Black Friday Giveaway with CC Corso Como on my Instagram tonight! You could win a pair of CC Corso Como shoes of your choice! There will be 2 winners - be sure to head to my Instagram account to enter!

Southern at Heart

For those of you who don't know, I grew up in the south. My southern roots run deep and I will always be a southern girl at heart! I lived in Boston a few summers ago and I learned a lot about myself. 1) I love big cities. 2) I just really love the south! Not that there is anything wrong with the North; living in Boston will always be one of my favorite memories. But I missed the southern accents, fried chicken and cowboy boots! Although I may not be in my dream city yet - I'm hoping to head to either Nashville or Charleston once I graduate!

Southern Girl Prep has ridiculously adorable gear for all the Southern girls out there! Be sure to check them out here and shop the look below!
