Most Comfortable Vest EVER

Do y'all ever have those days when you just can't deal with real clothes and want to spend the day wrapped up in a blanket? Because this is the struggle I deal with every weekday. Hah!

When you work with kids (or not), you just want to be comfortable. I'm running around all day, getting up and down off the ground - there is no room for heels and skirts. But I'm fashion lover down to my core, so part of me always wants to feel semi-chic. So, when I opened my latest package from my friends over at Chicwish, it was like the heavens had opened and dropped down this vest.

It feels like the softest blanket you've ever owned and is soooo comfy. I'm obsessed! Now, yes...it is a furry, fluffy statement - but when paired with all black underneath, it looks sleek and chic. This would be so cute with some chambray as well! This vest is definitely going to be on repeat all school year. And bonus - my kiddos love it (potentially) even more than I do. Mad about Plaid

Oooo, y'all. This coat has officially stolen my heart (and it helps that I worked with two amaze photographers on this shoot - their sites are linked under the photos). It has been crazy cold here in Nashville this past week which means that I've had 4 glorious snow days, but have been wearing a ridiculous amount of layers. It's hard to look fashionable when you feel like a marshmallow, but alas, this coat is the perfect solution! It's super thick and heavy, which was surprising considering the price point (under $100), and this plaid print is even more stunning in person. The print makes a bold statement, so I layered it over a fairly simple outfit to keep the focus on the coat. But I couldn't resist a little pattern play, so I finished the look with a fun leopard bootie.

Most of the coats I've invested in have been simple - either gray or black. And although I highly suggest having a few staples in your closet, I have to admit...this coat makes me feel so chic. I would have never thought to add a statement coat to my wardrobe but I am SO glad I did. It adds an element of fun to every outfit and is yet still so versatile. Dress it up, dress it down, keep it simple, or add layer various patterns to spice it up. I can't wait to wear this coat all winter long!

Embroidered Obsessed

I know....you're all sick of seeing embroidery. But I LOVE IT. I might have an embarrassing amount of embroidery in my closet at the moment, but I can't help myself. I've gotten so many compliments on this sweater. It makes a statement while still being casual which I love. It's a little oversized and just slightly cropped. I styled it with jeans and my Keds - but this could easily be dressed up with a skirt and some boots. And I'm pleased to say that this is one of those sweaters that is even prettier in person. Sometimes a website will say "embroidered" when really, it's printed on. But this one is actual embroidery and the detailing is so intricate and pretty! Check it out below!

Perfect Fall Jacket

I've officially found the perfect light jacket. You know those days where it's a little too chilly to just wear your normal clothes....but you don't want to break out a full coat? This is the solution my friends. It adds a little bit of warmth - but not too much, making it perfect for those brisk fall days! Plus it's gorgeous, so that's a bonus. I love the quilted puffer look! And you can never got wrong with a good neutral color, it goes with everything. Including my all time favorite fall outfit - a plaid button up with skinnies!

Easy Layering

It's no secret that I love chambray. Pretty positive it's my all time favorite closet staple - it goes with absolutely everything and you can style it in each season. This is one of the most versatile outfits in my closet and I get compliments every time I wear it!

This linen shirt dress from J.Jill is super soft and comfy (as is everything at J.Jill) and is the PERFECT length for all of us tall girls. I'm 5'10 and it's incredibly hard to find dresses that are long enough and this one hits right above the knee. Fair warning, I find J.Jill to run a little on the big side, so I always order a size down unless I want it fairly oversized. I layered it with my go-to jean jacket - I'm 100% going through a jean jacket addiction phase, if you haven't already noticed. And I grabbed the matching chambray hat to top it all off, because why not? Layering is an easy way to get that "effortlessly cool" look while still staying comfy!

90s Grunge

Anyone else get confused between plaid, gingham and checkered? Am I crazy? Sometimes they all look the same to me....but regardless - I love them all. So why not just mix them together! Anytime I'm wearing a shift dress (like this fabulous shirt dress from J.Jill) and I want to add a little more shape to it, I typically just tie something around the waist. In this case, I grabbed my fave plaid shirt to give it a "90's grunge" feel. I did my best to channel my inner Topanga with the hair. Any 90's children out there? I know you know what I'm talking about. #boymeetsworld4life

And it seems like everyone nowadays is pairing their dresses with sneakers. And I'm totally hopping on that train. Cute and comfy? Yes please. So I went to my ever-loyal Keds. I've gotten so much wear out of these over the years!

Coziest Sweater

Big, chunky sweaters are quite possibly one of the best things about fall. Nothing cozier than bundling up with some hot chocolate in a warm sweater by the fire, right? This cardigan has officially become my go-to "it's freezing outside, but I still want to look cute" sweater. You know how some of the chunky sweaters can make you look....um, chunky? Hah! This sweater somehow still manages to keep you nice and toasty, while also still looking fashion forward and avoiding the dreaded sweater frump.

I added a pop of color with a head scarf. Good news is - this one from J.Jill supports their Compassion Fund so you can shop for a cause. I love when I can purchase a piece whose proceeds go to something I support. The compassion fund supports community organizations help disadvantaged and homeless women become self-sufficient. Girl power at it's finest.

Black Romper of my Dreams

Okay....let's go ahead and talk about it. I am incredibly white in ALL of these photos. You know when you're out doing a shoot and then you get home and look at them and realize that your lighting decided not to cooperate. This totally happened with this shoot. So although I am incredibly fair - I promise in real life, I'm not quite so "vampire-esque". So please be so kind as to ignore the horrible photo editing as I tried to correct for the craziness glow of my skin. Hah!

But let's move onto this romper, because Y'ALL. It's all of my favorite things in one - off the shoulder, black, comfy AND a romper. Win. But it's from my friends over at Chicwish, so I would expect nothing less. This romper will for sure be my go-to for nights out of the town with my girlfriends! It also comes in white and burgundy and has these killer, flowy sleeves! I paired it with a choker, a bright lip and my favorite sunnies.
