The Perfect Swimsuit + Kortni Jeane

Every year I dread "swimsuit season". And as women - most of us do. It's that time of the year when you realize that sitting around the house watching Netflix while eating pizza may not have been the brightest idea (no matter how enjoyable), and now you have to wear a skin tight swimsuit of some sort...in public nonetheless. So you scramble to find a swimsuit that fits and is semi-flattering but here's the key....one that's actually cute! Which is much harder to find then one would think.

Well my friends, I have good news. Kortni Jeane is a swimsuit company that offers a mix and match approach to swimsuits that allow you to get styles to fit your body type as well as patterns to show off your individual style! They have a wide selection of various tops in bottoms, all available in adorable prints - so you can get the suit that's perfect for you! Having a suit that you feel comfortable and confident in is so important - and it's takes a little of that dread out of swimsuit season.

I've always been a sucker for stripes, so these bottoms were perfect for me! And because I'm 5'10 with a pretty long torso, I ordered the Extended High-Waisted Bottoms and paired it with the cute Swing Top! Plus - throw in a flamingo floatie and you're instantly the life of the party, right?!

I know several of the styles over at Kortni Jeane are sold out right now - but this is so they can continue to manufacture high-quality, custom suits at an affordable price! And the good news is, they release new lines quite often! So keep up with them on social media to see when the new line will drop!

Go-To Summer Wear

It's only May and it is already CRAZY hot in Arkansas, so I'm embracing my summer wardrobe. Recently I've been adding a few new staples into my summer rotation, including this fun asymmetric denim skirt from Loft. It's super comfy and perfect for those days you aren't feeling shorts (but it's denim - so it's still wind friendly).  And y'all know I'm a sucker for a good tank top. I'm in love this olive one I picked up at Maude the other day! It's cropped - so you can wear it tucked into a skirt or shorts or leave it out with some flare jeans! Olive is one of my favorite colors to wear because it's still neutral without being grey, white or black - so you can wear it with just about anything! It's safe to say that this top has become a new staple in my wardrobe.

Also - my hair has gotten super long, so I've been trying to master braiding before this summer fully hits! So if anyone has fun braid ideas - let me know!

Festival Feelings

Summer is officially upon us, and along with summer comes festival season. Sadly, I'll be in school all summer working on my masters degree - but I plan on vicariously living through all of my fabulous friends as they attend some of the killer music festivals happening soon!

When I first started seeing the neck scarf trend, I wasn't feeling it. But it has slowly grown on me over the past few months and I decided to give it a try. I shockingly liked it more than I thought! I felt very "hipster cool" in this outfit. And paired with my current go-to, the OFS top, it was a perfect match.

Y'all are going to thank me for this. This top is less than $13. LESS THAN $13! Not only is it super cheap - but it's high quality too. My favorite part about this shirt (besides the price) is that the arms have separate elastic than the base of the top. I know that sounds weird - but when the elastic continues all the way around the shirt, it makes it impossible to lift your arms up without the whole shirt popping up too - so I love that this top keeps it separate! And something about how the stripes are laid out, but this top is really flattering as well. It went perfectly with my fave flares, but this top would look great with shorts too!

Orange Crush

(obviously had to add the dramatic hair flip)

In case you haven't already noticed, the "off-the-shoulder" trend is going to be HUGE this summer. And let's be real....I'm pretty excited about it. I've already added a few off-the-shoulder tops and dresses to my collection and it's like an addiction - I can't stop! They are so flattering and feel perfectly summer-esque. Plus they can be styled in infinite ways. Half tuck them into skinnies or flares; pair them with high waisted cutoffs; tuck them into a skirt - seriously, the possibilities are endless.

Sadly, this exact top is sold out (although feel free to check your local Dillards!), so I linked two that are very similar below! Also, these jeans are only $44. Crazy, right!? Such a good deal. I've also had SO many of you ask me about my clutch. I actually sewed it myself, but I'll link a similar one for y'all to shop below!

Farewell to Summer

Summer might officially be over, but it's still 90 degrees here in Arkansas. So here's my (possibly) last summer outfit! I have officially become romper addicted. They are SO easy, no matching pieces, no worries about a gust of wind flying your dress up - just throw it on and go. This chambray one from Gap has quickly become my favorite! It's neutral and goes with absolutely anything. So of course I topped it off with my all-time favorite military vest, and Keds (you're shocked...I know). Shop this look below!

Twiggy Mod

I'm officially about to start my 4th week in graduate school and can I just say that I've NEVER been this exhausted? This week was only 4 days, thanks to Labor Day, and it was still the longest week of my entire life! Any other grad students out there? Is everyone this insanely busy? Craziness! But I got these sunnies in the mail last week and it was just the pick me up I needed! Can we talk about these for a sec? I mean, hello! Can I have a pair in every color!? I love how retro they are and they have a cat-eye shape which is always my fave! And yes, I paired it with the iconic chambray ruffle dress. I've been seeing it on every blogger in the entire world all summer and eventually broke down and ordered one. But I absolutely love it - definitely a good purchase! To top it all off (I know you're all shocked because I never wear these...wink, wink) I added my favorite pair of Lisi Lerch tassels!

Don't forget to check out http://edgeiwear.com/ for gorgeous sunglasses at crazy affordable prices (mine are only $14.99!)
