Country Living

Goin' country today. JK - I'm always a little bit country. You're not a southern girl if you don't own a few pairs of cowboy boots right?

Gingham is having it's moment this season and I couldn't be happier about it. I snagged this little off the shoulder number from Chicwish and loveee it. It will be perfect for summer. It also comes with a tie, but I prefer to wear it without!

And of course no outfit is complete without accessories. This wood watch from JORD is perfect to dress up or down. I love the navy face because while it's a neutral, it's also still an eye catching color. This particular style is made from Zebrawood (it's the Frankie) and it's a unique way to add a little something extra to every outfit! And I'm GIVING ONE AWAY to one lucky follower! So enter here for a chance to win! In the meantime, head over to their site to take a look at all their styles! Good luck!

90s Grunge

Anyone else get confused between plaid, gingham and checkered? Am I crazy? Sometimes they all look the same to me....but regardless - I love them all. So why not just mix them together! Anytime I'm wearing a shift dress (like this fabulous shirt dress from J.Jill) and I want to add a little more shape to it, I typically just tie something around the waist. In this case, I grabbed my fave plaid shirt to give it a "90's grunge" feel. I did my best to channel my inner Topanga with the hair. Any 90's children out there? I know you know what I'm talking about. #boymeetsworld4life

And it seems like everyone nowadays is pairing their dresses with sneakers. And I'm totally hopping on that train. Cute and comfy? Yes please. So I went to my ever-loyal Keds. I've gotten so much wear out of these over the years!

Book Worm Casual

Currently re-reading one of my all-time favorite books, Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers. If you haven't read it yet - you NEED to. Story gets me teary eyed (in a good way) every time. I think this is my 6th time to read it and it just gets better and better.

It feels oddly like fall in Arkansas again, but hey...totally not complaining! But when it's not cold enough for a coat, but not warm enough to go without I always reach for my military jacket! I love pairing it with patterned neutrals like this button-up from Evy's Tree! It's kind of an almond-eque tan which I was slightly worried would wash me out (because y'all know I'm super pale) but I was definitely wrong! It's a warm neutral that would flatter any skin-tone. And it has the cutest pink flower detailing on the inside of the collar for a little added flair. But I will say, if you're a little larger chested like myself, order a size up because this button-up is fitted! But trust me, this top will quickly become a closet staple. I love mine!

Gorgeous Gingham

I've always had a soft spot for gingham. There's just something about it that makes me feel like I've been transported to the 50's. And with fall right around the corner, it can be hard to find a gingham dress that fits the season! But don't worry ladies - I've got you covered.

My friends over at Dainty Jewell's designed this gorgeous number, which is also available in pink and can be made in midi (what I'm wearing) or maxi length! And its available in sizes small to 3XL, so you can be sure you'll find the perfect fit for you height and body type! This dress is easy to dress up with heels or dress down with sandals and is perfect for transitioning into cooler weather.

Gorgeous Gingham

Sorry I've been slightly MIA lately, but let's just say graduate school is going to be keeping me pretty busy for the next two years! So although, I'm going to do my best to keep up with the blog - I may not be posting quite as much as I did this summer! It's only week one of grad school and y'all! I'm exhausted already! Okay, but back to fashion. Can we talk about these tassel earrings for a second? Holy moly - I'm obsessed! I officially have two colors (turquoise and white)....and I seriously want them ALL! They're such a fun statement piece! On the downside, I will say that they're pretty heavy. So I personally can't wear them for a full day, I just wear mine to church or events here and there so I don't do any damage to my ear lobes! And although this outfit is fairly "4th of July" themed - I loved the navy and red paired with the bright turquoise! Y'all know I'm typically a stripes kind of girl, I've been loving gingham this summer! My dress is from Two by Vince Camuto, but sadly it's sold out! So I linked similar below!
