Mad Men Office Wear

Calling all my working ladies! If you work in an office - you need this dress. Sadly I can't wear it to work on the floor with my students at school, but this dress screams Mad Men office style. I will give you far warning - you will for sure need to safety pin it closed or it opens up some when you sit down, but such an easy fix! This cute little wrap dress is so fun and comfy. Plus it comes in brown as well! I kept it classy with a black bag and heels - but you can also dress this down with some white Keds/Converse and a jean jacket. Shop this look below!

Transitions into Fall

I've always been a huge fan of midi dresses. You can wear them in the summer, but they transition to the fall and winter seasons so easily. This little number from Vince Camuto is no exception. The floral print makes it relevant to summer, but the black makes it a perfect transition dress. I can't wait to wear this with a leather jacket and booties in the fall!

In the meantime, you can pair it with a fun pair of sandals - like these gorgeous white mules - and a fun pair of statement earrings. This dress is so easy to dress up or down; it would be perfect for any occasion! Shop this look below.

Summer Dress Staples

It's crazy to think that summer is halfway over and I've already got fall fashion on the brain. I'm all about a good summer dress that can double up for fall as well. This is definitely one of those! This cutie is from my friends over at Elizabeth McKay - an American designer with a classy aesthetic. I love that the design is super lightweight - so even though it has sleeves, it's still wearable for summer. But how cute would this be with a military jacket and booties in the fall?! I love the versatility! This dress is one that would look good on all bodies and all ages; it's a timeless piece that is a wardrobe staple! Shop this look below!

Kindergarten to Adulthood

If you know me at all, you know that I have an obsession with polka dots. Ever since I was a little girl, polka dots and stripes have been in hot competition - but dots always come out on top.

I went to Nordstrom this week to shop their half yearly sale and when I saw this top and skort (yes....skort) on the rack, I knew I needed them. They're perfect pieces for summer! Both are super light and airy and so neutral. Wear them together or wear them separate, they're adorable either way!

And my new necessity this summer is a good backpack. Again - a love since childhood. But this backpack is a little more sophisticated than my neon green North Face. This backpack is from my friends over at Radley London and is a gorgeous black grainy leather. I like getting textured leather because I feel like it wears better over time. This style also comes in a beautiful taupe! I'll for sure be taking this everywhere I go all summer long.

Classic Summer Style

Y'all. I know summer just started - but here in Tennessee it's already hotter than hades, I've been breaking out the shorts and tank tops! I love this lace top from my friends over at Chicwish. This is perfect for those warm summer days. It's super trendy and fashion forward while still keeping you cool in the southern heat.  If you have a larger bust - you may want to size up! And as much as I love a classic white top with jean shorts - I felt like it needed a little extra color with some fun accessories.

These slip-ons from Restricted Shoes are the most fun summer slides! I love the wine color and the embroidery detailing adds an unexpected flair to make them extra unique. Bonus - they're actually comfortable to walk around in! The heel is a great height (and block style, which is my current fave) and the soles have a little bit of padding. They were so kind as to give us a coupon code - you can use MUSINGSOFGLITTER25 for 25% off any full price shoe purchase! And finally, I topped it all off with a head scarf which have been making a serious comeback this summer. Not only are they cute, but they keep your hair off of your face which is a win-win! Shop this look below.

Attention Brides!

Hey friends! It's been a while. But, I'm finally back and working on some fun projects for y'all! With summer upon us - it's time for picnics, parties, and weddings. This dress y'all. The detailing is even more gorgeous in person! And it's under $100 from Chicwish. I snagged the white - one of my favorite colors for summer and it is SO perfect for any brides out there. This would be the prettiest rehearsal dinner or shower outfit! I kept the accessories neutral and added a little color with a plum lip. This dress runs TTS and has a lace up back so you can tailor the fit.

Nashville Trolley Tour

This week was my spring break (one of the perks of working in the school system) and my family came down to visit Nashville! They had only been down in Nash to help me move in and it was high time for a "fun trip". Nashville is one of my favorite cities! I might be slightly biased, but if you love country music and food - it's heaven. So, I got to play tourist with them and have a mini-staycation. One of my favorite activities we did was the Old Town Trolley!

I loved the trolley because it takes you everywhere you'd want to stop in Nashville AND you don't have to deal with driving yourself and parking! Nashville parking is the absolute worst. You can never find a spot or you have to pay a ridiculous amount per hour - it's terrible. So, I was so thrilled to be able to just hop on and off the trolley all day. So much easier! There are 15 stops on the tour:

1.  201 Broadway - this is right on Broadway, the main street downtown. Bars, food, and music galore!

2. Country Music Hall of Fame - This is a fun place to explore the history of country music. They have tons of unique pieces and artifacts from over the years! If you're a country fan - it's a must see.

3. Johnny Cash Museum - this one speaks for itself. If you love Cash, this stop is for you!

4. Ryman Auditorium - anyone who's anyone in the country biz has played here. It's full of history and so many of the greats have been on this stage!

5. Legislative Plaza - a gorgeous memorial to soldiers who gave their lives in WWI.

6. Musicians Hall of Fame - can't lie, I haven't had a chance to check this one out, but I've heard it's awesome!

7. Farmers Market - this is a great stop in the summer! Tons of vendors and places to walk around and explore. But in the winter, they do still have the inside open where you can get any type of cuisine your heart desires!

8. Marathon Motor Works - American Pickers (the TV show) has a store here and there are some gorgeous vintage cars to admire.

9. Centennial Park - the Parthenon is a MUST see.

10. Vanderbilt University - again, self explanatory

11. Hot Chicken - Hattie B's is a great place to grab some hot chicken! One of Nashville's many claims to fame.

12. Belmont Mansion - definitely walk around their campus, it is absolutely breathtaking!

13. Bobby's Idle Hour - this little gem is on Music Row, hang out long enough and you might catch a star walking around.

14. The Gulch - some of my all time favorite restaurants are down here! Don't miss Milk and Honey, St. Anejo and Burger Republic. Also some great shopping!

15. Frist Center - art lovers, this one is for you!

You can see all the details on their website. If you're visiting Nashville, or even just a local having a staycation, I highly recommend the Trolley Tour! I learned so many interesting facts about my favorite city and had the best time riding around all day, hopping to all my favorite places!
