Nashville Street Style

I partnered up with two INCREDIBLE photographers, Micahla Vaughn and Maria Gloer, to take some photos on my favorite street here in Nashville (12th Ave S).  Michala is based in Lousiana and Maria is based here in Nash. Both are incredibly sweet and SO talented. They have a way of making you feel at ease and you end up laughing your way through the photos. I highly recommend either of them if you're looking to have some professional photos done of yourself or your family!

I'm back again to talk about one of my favorite brands, J. Jill. You all know how much I love their clothing because it's high quality and comfortable. Today's outfit is no exception. They just released these denim leggings and I am in love! Thinking about getting the other colors as well. They have the perfect amount of stretch to feel like leggings, but still look like jeans. And for any other jegging lovers out there - you know that's a hard combo to find. I paired it with this mixed stripe tunic top. Monochromatic looks are all the rage right now - so I'm totally feeling the chambray/denim pairing. But to break it up a little bit, I added in some brown accessories with this faux suede jacket and leather boots/bag. The easiest outfit to look chic but remain casual. This has been a go-to outfit of mine for weekends! Shop this look below.

Gifts for the Beauty Lover

I wanted to share a few ideas for the beauty lovers in your life. If you (or someone you know) is an avid buyer of beauty products, they've no doubt heard of Oribe. They are one of the best haircare brands in the world and their texturizing shampoo is a celebrity favorite. So of course I had to add the Oribe Dry Styling Set to my list. This comes with both their infamous dry texturizing spray AND their dry shampoo - total win. And of course, what hairstyle is complete without the right tools? This little set from Eva NYC is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Not only is it pink, but it's teeny tiny and perfect for travel. They're also hair friendly - making sure your tresses stay healthy! Plus, how cute are these carrying cases? I'm also going to link my favorite conditioning treatment below - it has made my hair sooo much healthier.

Now, onto makeup. I recently found out that Oribe also makes makeup. Like, what!? Clearly I had to try it and I'm officially a believer. Their lipsticks are SO luxe and creamy - not to mention the gorgeous pigmentation. And I couldn't leave my favorite lipsticks off the list. I'm all about long-wearing lipcolor. These revlon lip butters stay on all night, no touch ups required!

Here are all of the products mentioned, plus a few of my current faves:

Most Transitional Summer Piece

This jumpsuit from my favorite little boutique, Shop Maude, is 70's inspired summer perfection. I am so in obsessed. But even better is the fact that it's going to be the perfect transitional piece for fall. Can't you just envision this with a military jacket thrown over the top? Perfection. AND you can wear this piece with or without the off shoulder ruffle - on hot days, I've just been styling mine as "strapless" and not pulling the ruffle over the shoulders.

It's the prettiest dusty rose/rust color which is flattering on any skin tone. It's a silky material making it pajama comfortable. But fair warning - this fabric does get pretty wrinkly, especially in the heat. I'm not a stickler for that, so it doesn't bother me! But if you like that freshly pressed look - this fabric may drive you nuts.

And let's take a moment for these sunglasses. Like, how gorgeous are these? They come in several colors (I'm wearing the orange) and are pretty oversized. Definitely a statement, but they're so incredibly retro fabulous, I think I need every single color.

Canadian Tuxedo Edition

Doing my own version of the Canadian Tuxedo today. Denim on denim can be a risky move in my book - but it's super cute when done right. Here are a few of my denim tips:

1. Style different shades of denim. I never wear multiple pieces of denim that are the same color - layer light and dark denim for more dimension.

2. Embrace the current trends. Adding in a few trends can make just about anything look more fashion forward - in this case, I went for the braided pigtails and chokers. This dainty layering choker is so on trend from the lovely Laci and Gold! She has so many cute pieces in her Etsy shop!

3. Accessorize to break up the denim. I added some dainty gold jewelry and a fun hat with a chambray accent to add some diversity.

4. Invest in a good denim dress. I wear my denim dresses all the time. Because no matter what season, they're always in style. I can wear them on their own, with a jacket or vest, with tights and boots - the list goes on! I love this one from J.Jill because it's crazy comfy - but definitely size down one because it runs a little big.

So go forth and style your denim hearts out!

Summer Ruffles

This dress is always in, season after season - you can never have too many denim off the shoulder dresses. So, I officially added another one to my collection from Chicwish! I LOVE this one because it's a little heavier then my others so it lays really well on and it has the cutest little elastic ruffle along the shoulders. It's always my go to summer dress.

And you'll notice halfway through I changed my shoes to show y'all the coolest company! Rescue Flats are cute little cold flats that fold up and fit in any purse. So you need them for all those summer weddings coming up! And PS - brides, these would be awesome gifts for your bridesmaids!

Real Life Fashion

Stripping it down on the blog a bit today. As much as I love fashion and getting all dolled up - that's not my every day life! For those of you who don't know, I just finished my masters degree in speech language pathology and will be working in the public schools! As a therapist, I spend a lot of my day on the floor hanging out with kids, so I need to be comfy and mobile in my clothes. That's why I love these jeans from Evy's Tree. They just released this new sangria color that I loveeee - I wear my denim pair all the time. They look like jeans, but they feel like leggings which is a huge win in my book! The waist band is elastic which is crazy comfy - but that means that I do usually pair them with oversized shirts that are a little longer!

So here I am folks, in all my everyday glory. Minimal makeup, glasses when I can't wear my contacts, hair in a messy braid, just hanging out on the ground. Hah! You can shop this comfy look below!

How to Style a Tee

Back again today with one of my favorite companies, owned by a sweet friend, Rosalynne Love! Y'all this girl is just incredible. So any chance I get to support her is an honor. This tee from her new spring collection is so perfect! I mean - it has baby succulents on it, adorable right!? And bonus - it's actually long enough for me to wear with leggings (granted, I ordered an XL because I wear things oversized) - but I NEVER find tees long enough to wear with leggings so this was a huge win for me.  You can style a tee in a billion ways, but here are a few of my faves:

- with skinny jeans and a kimono (like pictured)
- knotted with a maxi skirt
- over leggings with some tennis shoes and a high ponytail

Rosalynne's new collection has some super cute tee's just waiting to be styled! Go check out all her goodies here! Happy shopping!

{ps - for all you Gilmore Girls lovers, she has some super cute tees for you!}

Style for a Cause

Okay - continuing with my amazing brands theme: I want to introduce y'all to Sevenly! I've been a fan of this brand for a long time now. They're an advocacy apparel and accessories company who support various non-profits through art. I figured no one can explain their mission better then the people who created it:

"Sevenly mobilizes charity-themed campaigns so that people like you can show that People Matter – as we together raise funding, awareness and followers for the world’s greatest causes. We commission ‘cause art’ from artists worldwide that celebrates the work of selected non-profits, sell products that give back, and promote stories of encouragement to people!"

$7 of every purchase goes directly towards the selected organization. So far, they have donated over $5 million dollars to non-profits and they aren't stopping there. I love wearing their shirts because they are always a conversation starter. What better way to raise awareness about a cause you care about! The first tee I styled from Sevenly is the "Dream Bigger" design. This tee supports One Simple Wish which supports foster children by granting a wish. As someone working in the public schools, I see foster children on a daily basis and it's a cause near and dear to my heart.

The second tee I styled was the "Abundant Life Henna Hand "design. This purchase supports the YMCA's in the US and worldwide. Which again, is something I whole-heartedly support. Again, as someone who works in the schools, I can say that I've seen what a huge impact community can make in a child's life. The YMCA often provides that for kids. And hey! I played volleyball at the YMCA back in my day too.

But Sevenly offers a multitude of causes to choose from each and every month, so find what speaks to you and give back while getting a cool tee in the process.

Classic Chambray

Everyone needs a chambray dress in their closet. It's one of those staples that never goes out of style. I've worn mine every year - sure accessories may change, but the dress itself never does! This one from J.Jill is incredibly soft (as is all of their items) and it has pockets - which, give me a dress that has pockets and I'm sold. It's still a little chilly here in Arkansas, so I topped it off with my striped zip-up from my friends over at Evys Tree!
