Stripes, Dots, Plaid....Oh My!

In my opinion, you can never have enough pattern in your life. Although I will be the first to admit, mixing patterns can totally go wrong.....I've found when you stick to the basics, everything in moderation turns out just right. Stripes, dots, plaid - the best. When it comes to fall, layers are key! So I love to have a scarf handy anytime I'm heading out for a long day!

This tunic from one of my new favorite boutiques, Wit &Whimsy, is the perfect fall piece. It's long enough to wear with jeans or leggings, and if you're not a giant (such as myself) you could totally wear it as a dress! It has cute little pocket details on the front and is super comfy!

I topped it off with this perfect military jacket from J.Coda - which comes in both olive and nude! I'm wearing a size large for reference. It's the easiest layering item for fall - comfy, casual and goes with literally anything. I'm wearing the olive - but I am so tempted to get the nude as well! I love grabbing this on-the-go! Because if your weather is anything like Arkansas, it can go from warm and sunny to freezing at the drop of a hat.

Seeing Stripes with Zaful

I think stripes are my ultimate pattern love. Don't get me wrong, I love a good polka dot, but stripes have always been my favorite. So when I ran across this striped swing dress, I knew I had to have it! It's super affordable - under $20 from Zaful - and it's ridiculously comfy. So easy to throw on and go for a casual weekend, or a day exploring on vacation! Zaful is the perfect website to head to when you're looking for a fashion forward piece that isn't going to break the bank. Their site is easy to navigate and they can ship it to you in no time.

Festival Feelings

Summer is officially upon us, and along with summer comes festival season. Sadly, I'll be in school all summer working on my masters degree - but I plan on vicariously living through all of my fabulous friends as they attend some of the killer music festivals happening soon!

When I first started seeing the neck scarf trend, I wasn't feeling it. But it has slowly grown on me over the past few months and I decided to give it a try. I shockingly liked it more than I thought! I felt very "hipster cool" in this outfit. And paired with my current go-to, the OFS top, it was a perfect match.

Y'all are going to thank me for this. This top is less than $13. LESS THAN $13! Not only is it super cheap - but it's high quality too. My favorite part about this shirt (besides the price) is that the arms have separate elastic than the base of the top. I know that sounds weird - but when the elastic continues all the way around the shirt, it makes it impossible to lift your arms up without the whole shirt popping up too - so I love that this top keeps it separate! And something about how the stripes are laid out, but this top is really flattering as well. It went perfectly with my fave flares, but this top would look great with shorts too!

70's Vibes

Channeling some super 70's vibes with this look today. I love the fact that bell bottoms are back in style! Don't get me wrong - I'm all about the skinny jean, but bell bottoms are a fun variation from the norm. Plus, this pair just so happens to be high rise - which is the cherry on top (see ya muffin top).

Stripes have always been my favorite pattern (closely rivaled by polka dots and plaid), so any chance I have to add more stripes to my closet, I do. This long sleeve striped top from Vintage Willow is made of a super comfy ribbed material and has a cute ruffled back. I'm a true believer that you can never own too many stripes (even if I do have 15 stripe shirts).

And obviously any 70's look has to be topped off with a head scarf. Every time I go to a thrift store I always look at their head scarves. You can find vintage scarfs for crazy cheap - and just throw them in the wash and they're like new! I also layered 4 different necklaces because when in doubt, add more jewelry. And I HAVE to share my excitement because I finally found a locket with my initials on it! There's a fabulous local shop, Mae's, which carries all the vintage jewelry of your dreams. I've been searching for a locket with my initials engraved on it for forever and they finally found this beauty! It's from the 1920's and I'm absolutely obsessed. Always makes me wonder who wore it before me.

Details on this look are below! Enjoy your weekend loves!

Fall Pattern Play + Lots of Layers

It is finally cooling off here in Arkansas and I couldn't wait to pull out all the plaid in my closet. This buffalo check vest is from Old Navy and is super affordable! Y'all know I love pattern mixing, so I paired it with my striped baseball sweatshirt from J.Crew. And with Arkansas weather - you never know what you're going to get, so I tied a military jacket around my waist just in case! I'm a firm believer that you can never have too many layers during the fall.

I also wanted to share my brand new phone case from Mophie with you guys! Not only does it charge your phone, but it supports a good cause! For every sale of the (PRODUCT) RED juice pack, Mophie will contribute 5% to The Global Fund to help elminate AIDS! It's a win win. Shop this look below!

Falling for Plaid

The weather is slowly cooling down and I am beyond excited! Fall is my absolute favorite season and I'm am completely over this heat. So obviously when the temperature finally dropped below 70, I had to get my blanket scarf out! Pairing plaid and stripes is one of my favorite ways to play with pattern in the fall! And this burgundy striped swing dress is crazy cheap over at Old Navy right now! I ended up getting two of the solid colors too because you can never have too many swing dresses, am I right!? I wanted to add a few dainty accessories to finish off this look, so I paired it with these gorgeous cluster earrings and rhinestone cuff from my friend Annette's line - Confetti by Annette! Her jewelry is incredible quality and is made right here in the USA! And they're made of Swarovski crystals, so they are SO sparkly (which y'all know I love)! Get the details down below!
