Velvet Love

Velvet and embroidery?! Holy jackpot! Two of my favorite trends combined. Bravo Chicwish! This is supposed to be a dress - but it's definitely more of a tunic on me (I am 5'10 though, so keep that in mind)! But it also looks adorable with leggings or tights! It's fairly heavy because of the velvet, which makes it perfect for fall and winter. The embroidery details on it are absolutely gorgeous. Definitely one of the more unique pieces in my closet.  To add even more drama, I paired it with these pink tassel earrings, and I love them together!

And I'm finally talking about some of my favorite hair products. I get so many questions! So I'm linking what I use on a daily basis down below!

Happy shopping!

Embroidered Dreams

It's no secret that I'm obsessed with embroidery at the moment. I think out of the last 5 pieces of clothing I've purchased, 4 of them have had embroidery of some sort. So clearly, it's safe to say that I'm a big fan of this trend. And as a big fan, the more embroidery - the merrier. So when I saw this moto jacket and maxi dress on Chicwish, I knew that they were a match made in heaven. I mean, come on! This is what embroidery dreams are made of!

This jacket is so versatile. I can't wait to style it throughout this season! It's perfect with dresses, jeans, skirts - the possibilities are endless. And whew - can we take a moment of silence for this dress? How gorgeous. I love that the sleeves and hem are sheer with just the embroidery detailing. Drama at it's finest.

Fayetteville Meets Nashville

I've been in Nashville for almost 3 months now, and I feel like I'm finally getting the hang of it. Traffic is crazy, there is construction everywhere and I hear sirens 24/7. But there's always something to do, live music around every corner, great food and fashion - the pros for sure outweigh the cons. I'm loving my new city!

One of my favorite things about Nashville is that everyone has such unique style. I've definitely felt a little more freedom here to wear what I want, when I want, where I want. But I'm an Arkansas girl at heart, so I don't think I'll ever stray too far from my roots. So, I thought it'd be fun to do a little Fayetteville/Nashville fashion mashup.

This cardigan is from one of my favorite stores back home, Shop Maude. It's a gorgeous rust color and is literally the softest thing I own. As soon as I put it on, I immediately thought that there was no way I was going to be able to wash it (because the fabric is incredible) - but it's machine washable! What?! Best part for a girl who works with messy kiddos all week. And I LOVE the length of this cardigan, so perfect for fall and winter. I paired it with these cute little fan fringe earrings (which of course my hair decided to eat, so you can't see them well...struggles of long hair - but they're adorable and super light weight!) in grey. Shop Maude always has the best pieces for every season - not only fashionable, but high quality as well.

This tee and skirt are actually thrifted from a local Goodwill here in Nashville. I love vintage finds, and I live right by a Goodwill which is too convenient. I try to stop in every few weeks to see what new goodies they have. Nashville has awesome thrifting - I've found so many unique pieces. And I didn't feel like I was a true Nashvillian until I found my first vintage country tee. It's a Nash staple right? When I saw this Willie one, I snagged it as quickly as possible! And then of course had several other shoppers asking to buy it from me - but no way, this bad boy is all mine.

Hope you all have the best week! Happy Sunday!

Saturday Errands

Pretty sure this is the 4th denim dress I own, but I've decided you can never have enough. They're perfect for all seasons and the best transition piece! Denim is totally a neutral in my mind. I can wear it by itself, pair it with leggings, throw on a cardigan - the possibilities are endless. This dress is a great length AND it has pockets! Serious win win.

This dress has become one of my favorite weekend outfits for when you've got lots to do, but still want to look cute! It's from J.Jill - so of course it's super soft and machine washable (which is a non-negotiable in my book). I threw it on with a pair of my comfiest booties and some blush accessories. Perfect from running to brunch with the girls to grabbing some groceries and everything in between.

Casual Striped Midi Dress

Happy Friday my friends! I'm back today with one of my all-time favorite brands, J.Jill! This dress from their new collection is just as fabulous as I've come to expect from their brand. I loveeeeee this dress. Seriously considering getting it in black as well. It's beyond comfortable and so flattering on. It's a good midi length with short sleeves making it perfect for me to wear to work or just to run errands on the weekend! And the best part - y'all....it has pockets! This dress is a total win in my book.

And a little tip - whenever I wear a dress that doesn't have a waist, I almost always tie a jacket around the waist or add a belt to add some shape! But this will also be so cute with a jacket layered over it when it gets cooler.

And I'm also wearing J.Jill's new Compassion Fund Reversible Necklace. One side says "hope" and the other says "love". 100% of the proceeds from this necklace goes towards community based programs that directly help women in need. You can find out more about the foundation here.

Canadian Tuxedo Edition

Doing my own version of the Canadian Tuxedo today. Denim on denim can be a risky move in my book - but it's super cute when done right. Here are a few of my denim tips:

1. Style different shades of denim. I never wear multiple pieces of denim that are the same color - layer light and dark denim for more dimension.

2. Embrace the current trends. Adding in a few trends can make just about anything look more fashion forward - in this case, I went for the braided pigtails and chokers. This dainty layering choker is so on trend from the lovely Laci and Gold! She has so many cute pieces in her Etsy shop!

3. Accessorize to break up the denim. I added some dainty gold jewelry and a fun hat with a chambray accent to add some diversity.

4. Invest in a good denim dress. I wear my denim dresses all the time. Because no matter what season, they're always in style. I can wear them on their own, with a jacket or vest, with tights and boots - the list goes on! I love this one from J.Jill because it's crazy comfy - but definitely size down one because it runs a little big.

So go forth and style your denim hearts out!

Summer Ruffles

This dress is always in, season after season - you can never have too many denim off the shoulder dresses. So, I officially added another one to my collection from Chicwish! I LOVE this one because it's a little heavier then my others so it lays really well on and it has the cutest little elastic ruffle along the shoulders. It's always my go to summer dress.

And you'll notice halfway through I changed my shoes to show y'all the coolest company! Rescue Flats are cute little cold flats that fold up and fit in any purse. So you need them for all those summer weddings coming up! And PS - brides, these would be awesome gifts for your bridesmaids!

How to Style a Tee

Back again today with one of my favorite companies, owned by a sweet friend, Rosalynne Love! Y'all this girl is just incredible. So any chance I get to support her is an honor. This tee from her new spring collection is so perfect! I mean - it has baby succulents on it, adorable right!? And bonus - it's actually long enough for me to wear with leggings (granted, I ordered an XL because I wear things oversized) - but I NEVER find tees long enough to wear with leggings so this was a huge win for me.  You can style a tee in a billion ways, but here are a few of my faves:

- with skinny jeans and a kimono (like pictured)
- knotted with a maxi skirt
- over leggings with some tennis shoes and a high ponytail

Rosalynne's new collection has some super cute tee's just waiting to be styled! Go check out all her goodies here! Happy shopping!

{ps - for all you Gilmore Girls lovers, she has some super cute tees for you!}

Style for a Cause

Okay - continuing with my amazing brands theme: I want to introduce y'all to Sevenly! I've been a fan of this brand for a long time now. They're an advocacy apparel and accessories company who support various non-profits through art. I figured no one can explain their mission better then the people who created it:

"Sevenly mobilizes charity-themed campaigns so that people like you can show that People Matter – as we together raise funding, awareness and followers for the world’s greatest causes. We commission ‘cause art’ from artists worldwide that celebrates the work of selected non-profits, sell products that give back, and promote stories of encouragement to people!"

$7 of every purchase goes directly towards the selected organization. So far, they have donated over $5 million dollars to non-profits and they aren't stopping there. I love wearing their shirts because they are always a conversation starter. What better way to raise awareness about a cause you care about! The first tee I styled from Sevenly is the "Dream Bigger" design. This tee supports One Simple Wish which supports foster children by granting a wish. As someone working in the public schools, I see foster children on a daily basis and it's a cause near and dear to my heart.

The second tee I styled was the "Abundant Life Henna Hand "design. This purchase supports the YMCA's in the US and worldwide. Which again, is something I whole-heartedly support. Again, as someone who works in the schools, I can say that I've seen what a huge impact community can make in a child's life. The YMCA often provides that for kids. And hey! I played volleyball at the YMCA back in my day too.

But Sevenly offers a multitude of causes to choose from each and every month, so find what speaks to you and give back while getting a cool tee in the process.
