Is It 2021 Yet?!

WOW. Y’all. I just realized how long it’s been since I’ve written a post. I know most of us keep in touch on Instagram now a days, but whew - what a year 2020’s been. It felt right to end it back here with a yearly update. This year has been hard for me - like so many others! Along with job uncertainties, this year was full of emotions. The good, the bad, the sad, the scary, the funny...although it was a heavy year, it was also a year full of a reminder to savor the little things in life. I don’t know about you, but it’s definitely been sweet to get to spend more time with family this year and enjoy the slower pace of life. BUT with that said, I think we can all agree that it’s time for 2021!

Although NYE likely will look different than previous years, I fully plan on using it as an excuse to break out my sparkly dresses and fit allllll the glam I’ve been missing all year (bye sweatpants) into one night. This sparkly number is one of my new faves! Love the sleeves because it makes it perfect for winter. Adrianna Papell has always been my go-to for formal dresses and her line this year is no exception. It’s all absolutely stunning! Check it out here

Cheers to 2021. Promise I won’t be such a stranger around here anymore.

Peach Princess

The detailing on this dress is insaneeeee. I couldn't even capture all of it on camera, it's even prettier in person! It makes me feel like an enchanted wood fairy princess. I will say - it's a light peach color, which isn't the most flattering on my skintone; but for those of you who have a bit of a tan or darker coloring, this would be STUNNING on you. The little flowers and embroidery throughout have gold detailing that sparkles in the light and the applique flowers are beautifully delicate. This would be perfect for any formal events! It runs true to size, but if you're busty - I would size up.

Baby Blue Dreams

To say that I'm obsessed with this little blue number is an understatement. The button up dresses have been such a big trend all summer and I'm excited that it's transferring into fall as well! This color is to die for (but it also comes in peach, black and tan) and the midi length makes it perfect for cooler weather.  I will say, I'm pretty tall - so for you shorter girls out there, this may be closer to a maxi dress on you. I opted to keep the accessories neutral and go with minimal makeup. But this is easy to dress up with a red lip and some heels! The slim waist line makes it flattering on every body type. It will definitely be a dress I reach for time and time again!

Bridesmaid Dresses Made Easy

As a southern girl in her mid-20s, it's the decade of weddings. So many friends getting married! I've been in several weddings and consider myself somewhat of a professional bridesmaid. And as a professional, I can personally attest to the drama of finding bridesmaid dresses. You want to find dresses that flatter everyone - so let them pick their own dresses! But then you deal with finding shades that will match which can be a nightmare when your bridesmaids are spread out all over the country.

Enter Azazie. They offer affordable bridesmaids dresses in a variety of colors and styles. They make it SO easy to let your bridesmaids pick out their style while making sure everyone shows up in the same color - no clashing mishaps! They even offer custom sizing to make sure you get the perfect fit! I went with the Kailyn which is perfect for my friend's wedding this December! It's incredibly high quality and will be super comfy all night long.

Back to School Style

For those of you who don't know - I work in the public schools. Which means back to school is right around the corner! I never thought I'd be talking about back to school fashion in my mid-20's, but here we are. Except now I'm focused on helping out all my sweet teacher and SLP friends!

Most school dress codes don't allow jeans - but as someone who spends a lot of their day getting up and down, on the floor, and running around, you have to find creative ways to wear comfy clothes. I recently worked with J.Jill and stumbled on the BEST JUMPSUIT EVER. It's a heavy weight rayon/spandex blend so it looks dressy but feels like sweatpants. The best of both worlds! And to cover the shoulders, I added a basic chambray shirt on top. I love tying this piece over tanks/dresses to add a little more coverage, but keep it fashionable and young. This outfit will be on repeat all school year long. Also easy to transition to fall/winter with blazers and jean jackets. A great staple piece!

Happy back to school!

Life is Sweet

Life CAN be sweet - and what's sweeter than a little pink gingham sundress?! I can't lie...part of me feels like Little Bo-Peep in this dress....but part of me loves it. Hah! It's so sweet and perfect for summer! The dress has a little layer of tulle to keep the skirt nice and full - clearly perfect for twirling in front of murals. I kept the Little Bo Peep theme going with braided pigtails - but this dress could easily be made a little more sophisticated with a sleek high pony, some heels and a pair of statement earrings. Mad Men Office Wear

Calling all my working ladies! If you work in an office - you need this dress. Sadly I can't wear it to work on the floor with my students at school, but this dress screams Mad Men office style. I will give you far warning - you will for sure need to safety pin it closed or it opens up some when you sit down, but such an easy fix! This cute little wrap dress is so fun and comfy. Plus it comes in brown as well! I kept it classy with a black bag and heels - but you can also dress this down with some white Keds/Converse and a jean jacket. Shop this look below!
