Peace and Flowers + Rosalynne Love

A few months ago, my mother and sister came home from the Little Craft Show and handed me a business card. They told me that I absolutely had to go follow this company on Instagram because they had the cutest tees! So of course, I checked it out and fell in love with their designs myself.

Then I received an email from that very same company a few weeks ago asking me to collaborate and it was fate. Hah! Okay, I'm being slightly dramatic - but this is 100% how it happened. If you haven't heard of Rosalynne Love, you must check it out! Rosalynne is one of the sweetest people (who is equally obsessed with glitter, like myself) and has an amazing heart. Her compassion and creativity show through in each and every one of her designs. AND part of the proceeds from her shop go towards sponsoring children in need through Compassion International.

You can get the tee that I'm styling in these pictures here, and be sure to check out the rest of her shop! She has everything from tees and tanks to mugs and stickers!

Go-To Summer Makeup with essence

This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #essenceEssentials #essenceAtTarget #CollectiveBias

I teamed up with essence at Target to bring you all my go-to summer makeup look. I love a good bronze cat eye and a pink lip! So if you want to see how I created this look, check it out below!

First, I headed to Target to pick up a few of my favorite essence products. If y'all haven't used essence before, you are missing out! They have incredibly high quality products and prices that will make your jaw drop. So affordable! If you can't pick up these items at your local Target - you can check them out here!

Products Used:
1. All About Eyeshadow Palette in Bronze ($5.49) which is SERIOUSLY pigmented, and has the perfect amount of shimmer. It has a variety of colors, so it works well on any skin tone.
2. I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara ($4.99) - which has quickly become my new favorite mascara. This mascara does exactly what is in it's name, like...serious lashes.
3. Blush Up! Powder Blush ($3.99) in this gorgeous ombre pink.
4. Eyeliner Pen Waterproof ($2.99) - super easy to use, and you can't beat the price.
5. Longlasting Lipstick in Get the Look! ($2.99) which is the perfect "mod" pink.

I already went ahead and applied my foundation, concealer and powder - so we can move straight to the eyes! First thing I do is use a small piece of tape (put it on the back of your hand before you put it on your eye) and line it up from the lower lashline up to the end of your eyebrow. This creates the perfect outline for any cat eye.

Then you can start in on the shadow. I used the color on the bottom row (3rd from the left) and worked that through the outer corner and into the crease. I also used the darkest shade (bottom row, 4th from the left) to define the outer crease in a triangular shape. Finally I mixed the first shade on each row to create a light highlight to put in the inner corner and under the brow.

Once you have the color built up to your desired level of smokiness - you can take the tape off. I then use the line we created with the shadow and draw a little cat eye. After the flick is done, I line the rest of the eye. (PS - this eyeliner comes in marker form, so it is SO easy to use).

Then add on loads of mascara. The best thing about this mascara is that you really only need 2 coats to get lashes that are crazy long (seriously, they looked better than falsies!).

And last but certainly not least - add in some pink! I mixed the two shades in the blush and generously applied that to my cheekbones. And finally I topped the look off with that gorgeous pink lipstick! I also put on a bit of essence Sheer & Shine Lipstick in Sparkling Miracle to add a little plum to it.

And voila. Summer ready.

PS - how cute is the tote from essence? "Every makeup bag should be this big" - totally agree. I never seem to have enough room in mine! And I have some exciting news for y'all! You can enter to win your very own mega haul from essence at Target here!

Happy Shopping!

Green Goddess Maxi

Leave it to my favorite boutique, Maude, to have the most gorgeous, green maxi dress. My cousin is getting married this weekend, and I searched high and low for a dress to wear to the rehearsal - this green maxi was the winner! And bonus - it might be the comfiest maxi I own. There aren't any zippers or anything, so you can just slid it on - it's slightly elastic in the back so it's the perfect fit.

I'm also obsessed (like...obsessed) with the neckline, it's got the most unique little cut out! The color is a slightly faded, mossy green and pairs well with bronze/gold jewelry. Which of course leads me to this fun ring set (3 rings for $15 - such a steal) and these little bird dangle earrings - both of which match perfectly by the way.

And as this dress makes me feel like a grecian - I had to top it all off with half up fishtails and a bronze/shimmery smokey eye. Shop the look below!

Art Feeds Love

Hey friends! Today I wanted to highlight an incredible organization.  If you haven't heard of Art Feeds, they're an organization who work with kids all over the world to focus on building creativity and emotional expression through art. As a future speech-language pathologist, this is near and dear to my heart. There are so many kids who don't have the words to express themselves, and art is such a great outlet! So I'm teaming up with Art Feeds for their next fundraiser. What fundraiser you ask? As Art Feeds Day is approaching (September 8th) - Art Feeds is selling these t-shirts that simply say Art Feeds _______ . So grab a tee, finish the sentence and decorate away - all while supporting an incredible cause! All supporters will wear their decorated tees in support of Art Feeds on September 8th! The tees are $15 and you can order your tee here!

Because the cause is so special to me, I decided to fill in the blank with love. So of course I had to put little kisses all over my tee. If you want to see how, check it out below!

I picked up a kiss stamp at Hobby Lobby, along with some fabric paint!

So simply fill in the blank (you could use a fabric marker or a Sharpie) and stamp away! I did some kisses with the red and then slowly added in some white to make varying pink shades!

So, be sure to grab your tee while you still can here! And if you want to learn more about the organization, you can head to their website. I can't wait to see how you all decorate your tees!

Rainy Day Wear

I know the saying is "April showers bring May flowers"....but this summer has been WAY rainier than spring! I feel like we're under a severe thunderstorm watch every other weekend. And I've found out that it's extremely difficult to look cute when it's pouring outside. But, as I've recently had a LOT of practice, I'm here to share my secrets.

1. First of all, never wear your hair down. Trust me - no matter how many serums you use, it's gonna look like a hot mess in a matter of 15 minutes. So my solution to get all of my hair up and off of my face is milkmaid braids. It's the easiest hairstyle and it's sure to tame all those little flyways. Just braid your hair into two pigtails and wrap them up/pin them in place.

2. Wear cute rain boots. Enough said.

3. Find a cute raincoat. This is easier said then done. But never fear - I've done the hard work for you! This rain cape is adorable and comes in three different colors! You can find it, along with other fantastic rain day goodies over at Totes! It also has snaps on the sides, so you can keep them together to create sleeves, or unbutton them for a true cape. Plus it has a hood, which is a must have for me.

4. Top it off with the correct accessories. I always wear my Daniel Wellington watch because it's water resistant (keep in mind, this is water resistant for things like rain - not so much for swimming or showering!). I love their watches because they're well made and so classic. My Daniel Wellington watch goes with every outfit! And you can use code MUSINGSOFGLITTER for 15% off here!

5. Last but certainly not least. Get a fashionable umbrella. Let me tell you - Totes has all of the umbrellas your heart could possible desire. You can find all of their umbrellas (including my cute gingham one) here! Between the umbrella and rain cape - you're equipped for any storm headed your way!

Sending you all dry, warm thoughts. Shop this look below!

I think stripes are my ultimate pattern love. Don't get me wrong, I love a good polka dot, but stripes have always been my favorite. So when I ran across this striped swing dress, I knew I had to have it! It's super affordable - under $20 from Zaful - and it's ridiculously comfy. So easy to throw on and go for a casual weekend, or a day exploring on vacation! Affordable Fashion with Zaful

As most of you know, I'm currently a graduate student. AKA my budget is incredibly tight and I don't have much money to spend on shopping - and, as I'm a shopaholic, that can be tough!

Well ladies and gents, I have good news. Zaful is an online shop that brings fashion directly to the customers (skipping the middleman), resulting in affordable fashion for the trendy girl on a budget. I picked out a few pieces from their website and received them in about a week in the mail! They were double packaged (a package in a package) - which I love because it keeps the clothes neatly folded and clean.

As soon as I spotted that blue off the shoulder top, I knew I needed it. The chambray color is the perfect summer neutral and goes with everything. I love the ruffled shoulders and it's slightly cropped so it's the perfect length for high waisted shorts. I also snagged this red ruffled shoulder dress. I know....obviously my obsession with ruffled off the shoulder items is out of control. The color is a vibrant orange-red and although it's a little short on me (keep in mind that I'm 5'10), it was still totally wearable. And red/pink is my favorite summer color combo, so I topped it off with some pale pink accessories!

This was my first time shopping with Zaful and I can say that it won't be my last! I think it will be one of my go-to sites when I'm searching for that perfect, on-trend item (at a price that won't break the bank).
