Cozy in Plaid

Anyone else still drying out from the CRAZY rain that pounded the south this week? Literally, I could have used a canoe as transportation. But thank the Lord that it finally stopped and weather is getting back to what it should be in December.

I love a good jean. And let's be honest, it's hard to find jeans that fit! I just got this distressed pair from a one of my favorite new boutiques - P.S. I Love You.  I was a little anxious when I pulled these out of the package because they looked a little small. But I swear y'all - it was a "Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants" moment because they fit like a glove. They have the perfect amount of stretch to suck you in in all the right places, but still be comfy. I have tons of distressed boyfriend jeans, but shockingly no distressed skinnies so I am so excited to add these to my closet! And bonus - you can use code "glitter" for 10% off your purchase at http://www.psiloveyou.boutique/.

I also finally got to take my new Christian Paul Watch out for a spin! It's an Australian brand that offers affordable luxe watches that are minimalistic and fashion forward. I love that the face of the watch is oversized and the straps are gorgeous, smooth leather. And yes - I'm wearing this scarf again because it is SUCH a steal and I'm obsessed. Check out all of the details below!

New Years Eve

So, we had big plans for this photoshoot. We had three outfits and three locations picked out for weeks - and then mother nature decided to intervene. The day of this photoshoot just so happened to be the armageddon of rainy days. We were under flash flood warnings, the salon was leaking, and we were a HOT MESS. But the show must go on. So we rallied and decided to do all of the pictures in/around the salon and they turned out awesome! Super crazy, moody and vintage.

I worked with April from Freckled Fox Photography and Emily from Crown Beauty Bar to style some crazy fun NYE looks! The first look is a little more casual, but super edgy. I paired a sequin boxy crop top with leather leggings. Emily styled it with some big, teased hair and a bold lip. This look would be perfect for those of you going out with the girls this NYE or just hanging out with friends! The second look is a little dressier and perfect for those of you with formal party plans. A sequin dress is always a NYE go-to, but it's typically freezing - so obviously a fur coat adds a little warmth, but keeps the glam feel. Emily added a victory roll for a vintage touch.

And what's NYE without a little tinsel and champagne? I hope you all enjoyed the holidays and have a happy new year! See you all in 2016.

Merry Christmas x Happy Socks

Merry Christmas!!! Wow - crazy how fast this year went by. It's been filled with lots of ups and downs and I can't wait to see what the next year brings. I recently got the opportunity to work with one of my favorite companies - Happy Socks. And although you might just see cute socks, this little brand means so much more to me and my family.

A few years ago, my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully we caught it early, and a few surgeries later she is cancer free! But this time was really hard for us all and we often found ourselves in tears, wondering why? It was a time filled with lots of pain and sadness. Anytime someone close to you isn't healthy, it's scary. But my grandmother decided that even though we were in a tough situation, you must always seek the joy. So she sent our entire family (cousins included) a pair of Happy Socks. These brightly colored socks were a fun reminder to look for the happiness in every situation. Yes, my mother had cancer - but we were SO fortunate to find it early and were blessed with an incredible support system.

I think the moral of the story is that there is always a silver lining. Even if it's hard to see, there's always some hope to cling to. And even in the Christmas season I'm reminded that no matter what I'm going through - my Lord and Savior loves me and died for my sins so that I could have life. And that is the greatest hope of them all!

So, whether it be friends, family, a good luck charm or Happy Socks - don't forget to remind yourself that you are so loved this holiday season! Wishing you all the best in the upcoming year! And don't forget to check out Happy Socks here

Christmas Eve

It's almost here! I love Christmas time. Celebrating the birth of my Lord and Savior while eating ridiculous amounts of food with the people I love - it doesn't get much better! But along with all the holiday celebrations comes party attire. I searched long and hard for the perfect Christmas dress and I finally found it. This ruffle dress from Camilyn Beth is to DIE for. It's the perfect shade of cranberry and has the cutest little gold snaps on the back. And the best part is that I can continue to wear this dress all year - even in the summer, it's the perfect dress for any formal affair.

Obviously once you find the perfect dress, you also have to find the perfect accessories. Because I couldn't wear a necklace with this dress I chose to pair it with some serious statement earrings. These blingy long earrings are some of my all-time favorites, but they're clearly on the dressier side so I can only pull them out every once in a while. I also added this gorgeous ring from Chloe and Isabel (be sure to visit my friend Sarah Rose's shop). It's still a statement piece, but it's neutral enough to go with anything!

I hope you all are enjoying the holidays with your loved ones! The details for this look are linked below.

A Few of My Favorite Things

I finished my last final yesterday and I am officially done with my first semester of grad school! Wow. To say it has been a crazy, difficult journey is an understatement. I'm definitely ready for a much needed break! Helloooo couch and Netflix.

But I decided to start off break by sharing a few of my favorite things with you!

1. Skye on the Town - This is one of my fave local boutiques (I used to work there, so I might be slightly biased). But if you want to find trendy, gorgeous, affordable pieces, you absolutely need to check them out here or stop by if you're local! My feathery faux fur vest is one of my recent purchases from them and I am totally obsessed. Wonderful people, wonderful customer-service, definitely a must on your shopping list.

2. Loren Hope - Along with Kendra Scott, this is my all-time favorite jewelry brand. It's a little bit pricey, but totally worth every penny. This jewelry is high quality and will last you forever! I got my Jackson Teardrop Earrings at Skye on the Town (which btw is the only boutique in this area to carry Loren Hope).

3. Last, but certainly not least, Ringly - This is an up and coming company who makes wearable technology. Friends, let me introduce you to the smart ring. This little ring has become one of my wardrobe staples. I literally wear it every day! It connects to my phone and alerts me when I'm getting a text, call or email (it can alert you to calendar events and social media too!). It uses various vibration and light patterns, so I know exactly what's happening when I'm not by my phone. It allows me to keep my phone in my purse while I'm out running errands or at dinner with friends, while still being fully connected! Ringly is available in tons of colors, so you're sure to find one that matches your style and personality. All Ringly's are designed with semi-precious and precious gemstones set in an 18 carat matte gold or gunmental plated brass setting. I chose the Emerald ring for the "calming effect" it gives - and because this color is GORGEOUS. And the box your ring comes in is actually the charger! Fashion meets function. And you can use code EMILY10 for 10% off your Ringly purchase!

Wintery Luxe

It's officially winter, and with the new season comes endless parties, events and holiday celebrations. So clearly your wardrobe needs to change to! It's time to pull out all the sequins, glitter, fur and sparkles you own! Which, let's be honest, is my favorite kind of fashion anyway.

My favorite way to feel "luxe" in the winter is fur (faux, of course). It's so warm and cozy and looks super luxurious. I paired it with a comfy midi dress from Old Navy and my favorite snakeskin shoes from CC Corso Como! I find that a little pop of animal print (whether it be snakeskin, leopard, cheetah - you name it), always adds a little something extra to any outfit. I topped it off with my favorite Kendra Scott jewels and voila - winter luxe at it's finest.

And along with the holidays comes travel. I can't travel without a good playlist! These floral headphones from Ankit are a cute way to listen to my favorite tunes while I'm heading to see family and friends! Don't forget to shop this look below:
