Fiesta Dress

Back at it today with another off the shoulder (OTS) dress! Pretty sure half of my closet now consists of OTS dresses and tops. I'm praying this trend never goes out of style because I'm in love with it. Its flattering on everyone and is so versatile - dressy, casual, you name it...there's an OTS outfit for that.

This dress is a new favorite. I'm a sucker for embroidery and this dress has it all! The perfect chambray color (neutral enough to wear with anything) and the prettiest floral detailing. And we can't forget the cute little sleeves! I love a good ruffle. This one is from my friends over at Chicwish and you can grab this dress here! I added some of my go-to accessories. Everyone needs a good floppy hat. If you don't have one yet, go get one! You won't regret it. And of course I can't go anywhere without my purse. So when I was styling this look - I reached for my all time favorite, a simple brown cross body! Goes with any outfit, is easy to wear and has enough storage to hold the essentials. Shop this look below!

Parties and Picnics

Summer is HERE. And so are all the parties, grill outs and picnics. But the worst part is when you plan out the cutest outfit, get completely ready, and then head out to your event and immediately start sweating. Hah! It happens to us all. So it's always important for me to have a few dresses in my closet that are high-quality and fashionable - but keep me cool. Thanks to Maude, I found my go-to dress for this summer!

This little dress is seriously the cutest. It has crochet detailing along the front that wraps all the way around to the back. Plus a little cut out at the neckline along with a halter tie top. I would say that it runs a teensy bit big - but I still ordered it in my normal size and it works well!

And I'm sure none of you have seen these earrings (wink wink) yet this season, but I'm obsessed with the tassel trend. They add a fun little detail along with a pop of color - bonus, they're super light so no ear-pulling! Hope you all are having a fabulous memorial day weekend!

Signature Scent

So I've worn the same perfume for the past 5 years, but when that company stopped making it a few months ago - I was crushed! You know when you find that signature scent and the rest is history? That was mine. Since then, I've sampled just about everything at Sephora and gave in to the idea that I may not find another "signature scent".

But then my friends over at Kensie sent me their newest scent and y'all - it's a game changer!!! It's light and fresh, while still being bold. It's fruity but not too sweet. It's just the perfect mix. Tiny hints of vanilla and a little jasmine, some peach and vanilla and voila. I've been wearing it for a few weeks now and I think I can finally say that I've found my new signature scent. If you're in the market for one of your own, this is definitely worth checking out! Best part? You can get 40% off (crazy right!?) with code MUSINGSOFGLITTER

Country Living

Goin' country today. JK - I'm always a little bit country. You're not a southern girl if you don't own a few pairs of cowboy boots right?

Gingham is having it's moment this season and I couldn't be happier about it. I snagged this little off the shoulder number from Chicwish and loveee it. It will be perfect for summer. It also comes with a tie, but I prefer to wear it without!

And of course no outfit is complete without accessories. This wood watch from JORD is perfect to dress up or down. I love the navy face because while it's a neutral, it's also still an eye catching color. This particular style is made from Zebrawood (it's the Frankie) and it's a unique way to add a little something extra to every outfit! And I'm GIVING ONE AWAY to one lucky follower! So enter here for a chance to win! In the meantime, head over to their site to take a look at all their styles! Good luck!

How to Wear Designer on a Budget

I honestly don't know how I'm just now discovering ThredUp, but y'all. HOLY MOLY. It's a huge online thrift store and whoever thought of this knows my love language. I loveee a good thrift find, and having an online searchable database is a huge win for me.

As soon as I saw this Kate Spade dress, I knew it needed to join my closet. And seriously, y'all will not believe the price. This dress is originally $478. Drumroll please......I got this dress for $92. That's $386 off. I can't make this stuff up people. Such a steal!

Not only do they have have high-end designers, but they also have the basics (Gap, Banana, J.Crew etc) - all for incredible discounts. And most items don't show many signs of wear. I swear the dress I got is in total mint condition. I don't think I'm ever going to buy anything full price again.

Do yourself (and your wallet) a favor and check them out! PS - here are a few of their style tips!

Teeth Whitening at Home

So I've never felt like I've had super yellow teeth. But as any woman growing up in our society - I've always thought that my teeth could be indeed be whiter. Especially those pesky spots in between my teeth! I've tried a few whitening strips at home, but I've never been able to see any results because my teeth always become incredibly sensitive. So eventually, I just gave up. I figured that there is officially no whitening product that would work.

But fellow sensitive teeth people rejoice! I finally found a system made for sensitivity. Enter Smile Brilliant. This system is created by dentists and designed to be get results affordably at home. They offer two systems - one of which is specifically geared towards those of us with sensitive teeth.

So, how does it work? You're sent a package in the mail, like the one pictured below:

After you receive your package, you mix the base paste with the catalyst paste, and stick it into the trays to make impressions of your teeth (don't worry - they give you tons of instructions for how to do this). You then send in your molds and receive custom fitted trays to use for whitening!

They then mail you the molds and you can begin. You use the whitening gel first (orange). You simply put a thin line into the tray and pop it in. The length of time you leave it in depends on how badly yellowed your teeth are. I personally have incredibly sensitive teeth - so I decided to only leave the whitening gel on for 45 minutes, every other day. Then following the whitening gel, you leave the desensitizing gel (purple) on for 20-45 minutes (again...depending on your sensitivity level). Now, I'm not going to lie - I did have some sensitivity when using this product. But nothing compared to others I've used in the past. And I was able to fix that by spacing out my whitenings to every two or three days. I've been using this system for a few months and without further ado....here are my results!

 (before)

(after)

Yay! So I think I still have a little ways to go - but I love my results thus far! All that icky yellow between my teeth is gone and my teeth are brighter and whiter. And good news! I am giving away a system to a lucky follower over on my Instagram page and I have a coupon code for the rest of you! You can enter "#musingsofglitter5" at checkout for a 5% discount! AND I'm also giving one lucky reader their very own system! The winner will receive $139 to purchase a Smile Brilliant Kit! So to enter the GIVEAWAY just head to this link! Good luck!

How to Style a Button-Up for Summer

Today, I'm showing y'all my favorite way to transition button-ups into spring and summer. I love layering them over a cute dress or a romper! In this case, I grabbed by favorite chambray romper as a base. Chambray (or any denim) is the perfect base for any outfit because it's a great neutral without having to go for the traditional black and white. Then I grabbed my newest button-up from my friends over at Evy's Tree - it's the prettiest floral print making it perfect for warmer weather! When I'm wearing it over a dress/romper, I typically tie it up! The tricky part is tying it. It took me a while to get this down. I first button up one or two buttons at the level of my waist and leave the bottom few buttons and the top few buttons open. Then I fold the back of the top up and under to the level I want it, then grab the front ends and tie a knot!

Hopefully that made sense - it's hard to put into writing! But if y'all have any questions, shoot me a DM on Instagram! AND Evy's Tree is having a Mother's Day sale, so grab this shirt while you can! Happy styling!

Style for a Cause

Okay - continuing with my amazing brands theme: I want to introduce y'all to Sevenly! I've been a fan of this brand for a long time now. They're an advocacy apparel and accessories company who support various non-profits through art. I figured no one can explain their mission better then the people who created it:

"Sevenly mobilizes charity-themed campaigns so that people like you can show that People Matter – as we together raise funding, awareness and followers for the world’s greatest causes. We commission ‘cause art’ from artists worldwide that celebrates the work of selected non-profits, sell products that give back, and promote stories of encouragement to people!"

$7 of every purchase goes directly towards the selected organization. So far, they have donated over $5 million dollars to non-profits and they aren't stopping there. I love wearing their shirts because they are always a conversation starter. What better way to raise awareness about a cause you care about! The first tee I styled from Sevenly is the "Dream Bigger" design. This tee supports One Simple Wish which supports foster children by granting a wish. As someone working in the public schools, I see foster children on a daily basis and it's a cause near and dear to my heart.

The second tee I styled was the "Abundant Life Henna Hand "design. This purchase supports the YMCA's in the US and worldwide. Which again, is something I whole-heartedly support. Again, as someone who works in the schools, I can say that I've seen what a huge impact community can make in a child's life. The YMCA often provides that for kids. And hey! I played volleyball at the YMCA back in my day too.

But Sevenly offers a multitude of causes to choose from each and every month, so find what speaks to you and give back while getting a cool tee in the process.
