Comfy NYE

New Years Eve is just around the corner! It's one of my favorite holidays - any time a holiday centers around glitter, it's a winner. I typically go for a sequin/beaded dress for NYE and end up with scratches all over my arms (girls - you totally know what I'm taking about). So this year I'm switching it up and wearing velvet. Not only is it comfortable - but so on trend this holiday season. This one from Maris Dehart is the perfect amount of classy and sexy. It's going to be perfect for all the parties! But it's SO cold at the moment, so I paired it with this luxurious faux fur coat from Goodwill. If you're planning on being outside for NYE - you might want to add some tights!

Hope you all have the best time ringing in the new year!

Christmas Crash

The Christmas rush is over and I literally haven't taken my pajamas off in the past 2 days. It's the best part of the holidays! My family always spends Christmas day in our PJ's and we eat and play games all day...which just continues throughout Christmas break meaning that all I wear is pajamas for a ridiculous amount of time - but don't get me wrong, I LOVE it. These jammies from Evy's Tree are my new favorites. They are sooo soft and luxurious, literally never want to take them off. The most comfortable set I've ever owned!

The holidays are always so magical, but also really exhausting. So I love that my family keeps it chill most of the time. But with all the traveling and catch-up time, there's just no way to not get a little run down. Now that Christmas is over, I've just been reveling in my time off by hanging with the family and reading my favorite new series (Red Queen). Anyone else love pre-teen novel series? I have a weakness. Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Divergent, The Mortal Instruments - I don't think I've read a book intended for my own age in years. Hah! But I love them, what can I say?

I hope you all had the best Christmas and are enjoying time spent with loved ones!

Gifts for the Parents

Parents are the HARDEST to shop for. At least, my parents are. They either already have it or don't want it. I feel like I have to plan their Christmas presents months in advance in order to get it right! So I decided to share what I went with this year.

Dad's up first. My Dad has an unhealthy watch addiction. Like...his collection is insane. Yet, he continues to buy them - so I decided to contribute to the habit (I mean, who am I to judge - have you seen my earring collection?). Bradford Watch Company creates beautiful, timeless pieces that are simple and high quality. Perfect addition to any collection. And the best part is that they're giving back this holiday season by partnering with March of Dimes to support research and programs that promote healthier pregnancies for all moms.

And up next - Mom. She's tricky. She's one who likes anything you get her - but you want it be something she ACTUALLY likes. You know what I mean? So this year, I went with the basics. What does every girl love? Comfort and style. So I went to my favorite athleisure brand - Yummie. I literally wear their leggings every day because they are SO comfy. They're high waisted with a shaping panel built in making them super flattering. And they have styles to suit everyone - mesh inserts, moto detailing, velvet and leather! You can never go wrong with comfort.

Gifts for the Bestie

It's almost Christmas! If you need some last minute gift ideas - I'm here to help. Today I'm focusing on what to get your bestie. Now, if you're at all like me, shopping for friends is hard because I often end up wanting to keep their presents for myself. Hah! The struggle is real.

But problem solved! I just bought two of everything this year. Hah! Okay....maybe it's a problem, but when you get cute matching monogrammed purses, can you blame me? And it's an excuse to take some cute Christmas pictures together! I love getting things monogrammed because I feel like it makes it more personal. When you're buying for a good friend, you want to get something high quality as well - and I guarantee these leather bags from Jon Hart will last a lifetime! She was so excited when she opened her package! I think our smiles say it all.

And if you're looking for more ideas, I've listed a few of my picks below! Happy shopping.

Embroidered Obsessed

I know....you're all sick of seeing embroidery. But I LOVE IT. I might have an embarrassing amount of embroidery in my closet at the moment, but I can't help myself. I've gotten so many compliments on this sweater. It makes a statement while still being casual which I love. It's a little oversized and just slightly cropped. I styled it with jeans and my Keds - but this could easily be dressed up with a skirt and some boots. And I'm pleased to say that this is one of those sweaters that is even prettier in person. Sometimes a website will say "embroidered" when really, it's printed on. But this one is actual embroidery and the detailing is so intricate and pretty! Check it out below!

The Perfect Pair

Nothing better then a good sweater dress and some over the knee boots, right? But finding the right sweater is hard. They're either too long, too short, too boxy or too tight. Well, the hunt is over! I've officially found the perfect sweater dress from Chicwish. Now, this one was an inch or two shorter then I would normally prefer (but keep in mind that I'm 5'10). So I wore some spandex shorts under mine to keep things PG. But on most of you - this will be absolutely perfect!

So go snag you one for all those holiday get togethers coming up! I'll be wearing mine all season long. Happy shopping!

Gifts for the Beauty Lover

I wanted to share a few ideas for the beauty lovers in your life. If you (or someone you know) is an avid buyer of beauty products, they've no doubt heard of Oribe. They are one of the best haircare brands in the world and their texturizing shampoo is a celebrity favorite. So of course I had to add the Oribe Dry Styling Set to my list. This comes with both their infamous dry texturizing spray AND their dry shampoo - total win. And of course, what hairstyle is complete without the right tools? This little set from Eva NYC is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Not only is it pink, but it's teeny tiny and perfect for travel. They're also hair friendly - making sure your tresses stay healthy! Plus, how cute are these carrying cases? I'm also going to link my favorite conditioning treatment below - it has made my hair sooo much healthier.

Now, onto makeup. I recently found out that Oribe also makes makeup. Like, what!? Clearly I had to try it and I'm officially a believer. Their lipsticks are SO luxe and creamy - not to mention the gorgeous pigmentation. And I couldn't leave my favorite lipsticks off the list. I'm all about long-wearing lipcolor. These revlon lip butters stay on all night, no touch ups required!

Here are all of the products mentioned, plus a few of my current faves:

Ruffle Sleeves and Mom Jeans

Although it's been oddly hot in Nashville, I'm still calling it "sweater weather" - no matter how hot I am because it's December! Ruffle sleeves are a big trend this season and I am a full supporter. This grey one from Chicwish is so cozy. The body is a little more fitted which I think is a nice balance for the sleeves as they are obviously the statement piece. And because it's a little more fitted in the body, it's easy to tuck into jeans or a skirt.

I just grabbed these mom jeans from my local Goodwill and am debating what I want to do with them. Leave them as is? Distress them? Add some pearls? What are your thoughts!?

Velvet for the Trendsetter

So I'm doing things a little differently this year. Instead of a massive gift guide, I'm going to be doing little themed posts throughout the month of December featuring gift ideas for various people in your life. Today is all about the trendsetter. This is for those fashion savvy ladies in your life who are always looking for the next best thing. Buying gifts for the trendsetter can be tricky. Because not only are they typically fairly picky about their fashion, but they often have an excessive amount already. My favorite trend of the moment is velvet - so I wanted to show you a few unique velvet pieces that are sure to please your trendsetter.

I am head over heels obsessed with this velvet body suit from my favorite little boutique, Maude. This is so great for the holidays. The color is gorgeous and the velvet makes it feel super rich and luxe. Plus it's a body suit - which makes it perfect for wearing with jeans or skirts! Bodysuits give you the "tucked in" look without all the bulk. I paired it with my favorite pair of high waisted skinnies, but I'm already planning on wearing it with a fitted skirt and tights next. It's so versatile and unique - exactly what my closet has been looking for. Sadly, it's sold out! But, Maude has another velvet body suit at the moment that is SO gorgeous. It's a beautiful champagne which is perfect for the upcoming holidays and New Years! And the good news is, that Maude also has TONS of velvet options for everyone's style. I love this velvet bomber , velvet skirt and velvet dress. All so pretty!

Happy shopping!
