Casual Striped Midi Dress

Happy Friday my friends! I'm back today with one of my all-time favorite brands, J.Jill! This dress from their new collection is just as fabulous as I've come to expect from their brand. I loveeeeee this dress. Seriously considering getting it in black as well. It's beyond comfortable and so flattering on. It's a good midi length with short sleeves making it perfect for me to wear to work or just to run errands on the weekend! And the best part - y'all....it has pockets! This dress is a total win in my book.

And a little tip - whenever I wear a dress that doesn't have a waist, I almost always tie a jacket around the waist or add a belt to add some shape! But this will also be so cute with a jacket layered over it when it gets cooler.

And I'm also wearing J.Jill's new Compassion Fund Reversible Necklace. One side says "hope" and the other says "love". 100% of the proceeds from this necklace goes towards community based programs that directly help women in need. You can find out more about the foundation here.

Most Transitional Summer Piece

This jumpsuit from my favorite little boutique, Shop Maude, is 70's inspired summer perfection. I am so in obsessed. But even better is the fact that it's going to be the perfect transitional piece for fall. Can't you just envision this with a military jacket thrown over the top? Perfection. AND you can wear this piece with or without the off shoulder ruffle - on hot days, I've just been styling mine as "strapless" and not pulling the ruffle over the shoulders.

It's the prettiest dusty rose/rust color which is flattering on any skin tone. It's a silky material making it pajama comfortable. But fair warning - this fabric does get pretty wrinkly, especially in the heat. I'm not a stickler for that, so it doesn't bother me! But if you like that freshly pressed look - this fabric may drive you nuts.

And let's take a moment for these sunglasses. Like, how gorgeous are these? They come in several colors (I'm wearing the orange) and are pretty oversized. Definitely a statement, but they're so incredibly retro fabulous, I think I need every single color.

Comfy Cute Work Shoes

So for those of you who don't know, several summers ago I was the social media intern at Keds HQ in Boston. I loved Keds before my internship, but my love for these pretty little shoes has only grown since then! I legitimately wear these shoes to work daily - no joke. They're super comfortable, so I can run around all day with no irritation or pain. And, obviously an important factor for me, they're the still super fashion forward.

I always get compliments on my Keds. I had an old pair of Keds x Kate Spade gold polka dot shoes, but sadly after 4 years of nonstop wear, they look pretty worn out! So as soon as I saw these this black and white pair, I knew I needed them! They're so versatile - I wear mine with dresses, rompers, shorts and jeans. I love using my Keds to add a pop of color or print to every outfit. Every year I end up adding a few more pairs to my collection because I'm a firm believe you can never have too much of a good thing.

And, a little tip to all you other canvas shoe wearers out there - always spray your shoes with Scotch Guard. They'll stay clean so much longer! Shop this look below!

Going Retro

Going a little retro vintage tonight with this red, white and blue ensemble. This dress is legit the comfiest thing ever. It feels like sweatshirt material....but it's nicer than sweatshirt material if that makes sense? But of course it's from my faves over at Evy's Tree - so obviously it's got to be magic. You all know how much I love their pieces. Always high quality, cute and comfortable! And it has cute little button detailing on the sleeves along with a little ruffle on the back.

And I need to take a moment of silence for these shoes, because holy moly y'all - these feel like your walking on pillows made of clouds. Like, the most comfortable pair of shoes I own! If you don't have a pair of Naot's yet - you need one.

Canadian Tuxedo Edition

Doing my own version of the Canadian Tuxedo today. Denim on denim can be a risky move in my book - but it's super cute when done right. Here are a few of my denim tips:

1. Style different shades of denim. I never wear multiple pieces of denim that are the same color - layer light and dark denim for more dimension.

2. Embrace the current trends. Adding in a few trends can make just about anything look more fashion forward - in this case, I went for the braided pigtails and chokers. This dainty layering choker is so on trend from the lovely Laci and Gold! She has so many cute pieces in her Etsy shop!

3. Accessorize to break up the denim. I added some dainty gold jewelry and a fun hat with a chambray accent to add some diversity.

4. Invest in a good denim dress. I wear my denim dresses all the time. Because no matter what season, they're always in style. I can wear them on their own, with a jacket or vest, with tights and boots - the list goes on! I love this one from J.Jill because it's crazy comfy - but definitely size down one because it runs a little big.

So go forth and style your denim hearts out!

Southern 4th of July Fashion

I love getting together with friends and family on the 4th of July! There's nothing better than a grill out, watermelon, and some fireworks to celebrate our incredible country! But if you're in the south - you know that being outside on the 4th is going to be HOT. Like - temperature wise. Hah!

So for me it's a must to be in shorts. I love my white cut-offs! And a cute little tank tied up, like this denim one from J.Jill (which is super comfy and soft) is the perfect pair. Top it off with some red lipstick and red accessories and you're 4th ready! And I couldn't resist a good pair of statement earrings - so I snagged my favorite earring silhouette (these cute little ball drops from Sin Solo) in royal blue!

Hope you all have the best time celebrating! Shop this look below!
