Trip to Dallas + Hyatt Regency

Hey friends! I just got back from an AMAZING trip to Dallas and had to share all the details with you. Dallas is one of my favorite spots for a mini-vacay! It's a close drive from Northwest Arkansas, so it's the perfect weekend getaway.

Once we got to Dallas, we checked into the Hyatt Regency at Reunion. First - let me say that this was quite possibly the nicest hotel room I've ever stayed in. We were in a gorgeous sunset suite, which consisted of two rooms - a living room and a bedroom.

The living room boasted an incredible view of the Trinity River Greenbelt through a long panel of bay windows. It was furnished with lots of seating and all the decor was a perfect mix between classic/modern. The furniture was super comfy - and perfect for plopping on after a long car ride. Hah! Learned this one first hand. Like literally, I could live in that lounge chair by the windows.

The bedroom was again, perfectly decorated and uber plush. I'm a sucker for a clean, white bedspread. I feel like it makes everything classier, right? And obvi, comfort is a huge plus - I slept like a baby all weekend long.

Lets be real, what bedroom is complete without a cute little chaise lounge with gorgeous views?

Decor. On. Point.

Okay, y'all know how hotel bathrooms typically have horrible lighting and getting ready in the morning is awful? Well - not the case! The lighting was fabulous (almost too fabulous...talking every eyebrow hair people) which made getting ready a breeze. And can we talk about the tiling in that shower? Obsessed. I think I need it in my own bathroom.

After we settled into our room, we headed up to the Reunion Tower Geo-Deck - which is attached to the hotel. The observation deck is in that giant ball in the picture above! It's over 560 feet off the ground and offers 360 degree views of the Dallas skyline. Bonus - it's 20% off if you're a hotel guest at the Hyatt Regency!

The observation deck offers interactive screens in which you can explore important Dallas landmarks and read about their history. You can also watch a few videos regarding important historical events!

After we walked around for a bit inside, we headed out to the deck to get the full experience! Brace yourself for a little bit of wind, but the views are totally worth it. Not to mention that the architecture in and of itself is completely mesmerizing.

After the Geo-Deck, we decided to explore the hotel for a bit. There is tons of cool artwork everywhere! There's a whole hall filled with photos of Dallas' history.

Now, at this point, we were starving! So we grabbed dinner at Parrino's Oven, located inside the hotel. We had the nicest waiter EVER....like, the sweetest man, and ate wayyy to much italian food. I ordered the lobster ravioli which was killer!

After dinner, we decided to go catch the sunset at the sky deck (located on the 3rd floor of the hotel). Which again - gorgeous views.

And then we headed back up to our {gorgeous} room and completely zonked out on our {heavenly} beds.

We woke up and had a fairly chill morning. I lounged around in my pj's for a bit before getting ready for the day! Then we headed off to Northpark Mall for a bit of shopping! The hotel offers a shuttle service on the weekends so you don't have to drive!

Once we got to Northpark, we decided to fuel up before shopping! We grabbed lunch at The Theodore. I ordered a lobster roll (which reminded my of my Boston days) with fries, which was delicious and buttery! The Theodore also has the most eclectic decor - we spent most of lunch spotting things on shelves, it was so fun!

While at Northpark, I made a little pit stop at the Dry Bar to get my hair done. I've actually never been to a Dry Bar before - but it was fabulous! They don't do any cuts or color - just wash and style. But it was so nice just to stop, sit for a bit and drink some champagne while someone is doing your hair! It's like a mini-spa day.

After some damage (to my wallet) at Northpark, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for dinner!

Didn't I say that the lighting was incredible?

We went to Five Sixty by Wolfgang Puck (which is also in Reunion Tower - attached to the hotel) for dinner. Which, let me just tell you...pair incredible food with incredible views and you've got the BEST dinner spot. The restaurant floor rotates, so you can enjoy the full 360 degree view of the Dallas skyline while you dine on gourmet cuisine!

Five Sixty's menu features modern Asian dishes. We started off with several appetizers - but this spicy tuna cone was definitely my favorite! Seriously - the best thing I've had. SO GOOD.

And more appetizers. Hah! Gotta try a little bit of everything, right?

And I attempted to take pictures of all of our food - but after the sunset, my camera decided that it didn't like night time pictures. But for dinner, I had incredible scallops! My words can't do them justice, but they were delicious! And I ended with a chocolate soufflé which literally melted in my mouth. Yum! Hands down the fanciest restaurant I've been to. The ambiance was fabulous and the food was even better!

So, needless to say, this weekend was incredible! It just so happened to be over my birthday, and I'm on a 2 week break from school! What could be better?

I have to give a special shoutout to Hyatt Regency Dallas at Reunion for making the entire weekend so special. I truly felt like a princess all weekend long. The staff definitely knows how to pamper a girl! Everyone on staff was SO kind and welcoming, we had the best time!!! Such a perfect little getaway weekend.

If any of you are headed to Dallas soon, you should definitely check them out here! Their rooms are gorgeous and super clean, the staff is fabulous, and there are so many places to see and eat right there at the hotel! It makes vacationing easy.

Until next time Dallas!

xoxo
